The next step

We've been pre-approved for a new mortgage. Sweetie and I are going to take a much closer look at that house this afternoon.

This is a big step for us. We've never had to deal with selling a house before. Usually, we've just moved our stuff, cleaned up the place, and walked away at the end of our lease/assignment. Not this time.

This is going to be a LOT of hard work for us.

We're not really ready for this. Sweetie hasn't shown any interest in cleaning or packing any of his stuff in the basement. We've been here for almost three years now, and most of his stuff is still where he dumped it in 2007. We have a lot of boxes that haven't been unpacked since 1999 (or earlier).

The success or failure of this move will depend on whether or not Sweetie is on board for it. He absolutely must be excited about the new house, or else he'll sit back and ignore the problem. I won't do this alone. The typical passive-aggressive attitude isn't going to fly this time around. We'll see how he reacts this afternoon.

In the meantime, I have work to do.
